In my experience, each of us holds the ability to lead a fulfilling life, but we also all face hardships that challenge our capacity to thrive. I believe in the transformative power of healing through reparative relationships. The therapeutic relationship can be a mirror for patterns that occur outside of therapy, which creates a tremendous opportunity for us to explore and use our relationship as a vehicle for your growth.
For this reason, I put great care into learning about your important life experiences to better establish a validating and reparative relationship in therapy. I also believe that you hold the answers for what is best for your own life and that helping you connect more deeply with yourself will allow you to discover these answers. I will collaborate with you to create an individualized plan to heal past or ongoing trauma, cultivate insight, cope with challenging or overwhelming emotions and establish a greater sense of control over your life.
Throughout my life, I have found healing and fulfillment through deepening my connection with others, myself and the natural world. While I started out my undergraduate education in environmental studies, I decided to pursue training as a therapist because supporting others in building those connections is deeply meaningful for me. I would describe my therapeutic style in relationships as direct, empathic, curious, and engaged. And because life is just too short, humor and lightheartedness are essential!
