My goal as a counselor is to create a compassionate, warm, and non-pathologizing environment for clients from all walks of life. Core values I embody and encourage in session include authenticity, creativity, curiosity, and humor! Utilizing aspects of collaborative and coherence therapy, common elements of treatment with me include exploring your personal meaning-making of experiences, reactions, and responses; inviting mutual puzzling about conscious and unconscious purposes and drives; and “applying the scientific method” to try different ways to approach hurdles. In other words, your interpretation of your experiences and how you want to show up in your life, determine what we try.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California Santa Barbara, and my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. Passionate about creating a safe and mindful environment for my neurodivergent clients, I’ve also completed the ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and EMDR basic training.
