Insurance and fees

We’re in network with most major insurance plans, and we’ll verify your benefits before your first visit or make sure you’re set up with a self-pay plan.

If we’re not in your plan’s network

We can bill your insurance as an out-of-network provider. Many plans include out-of-network benefits that pay for part of your care, often after an out-of-network deductible. We’ll check what your plan covers and explain it before you start.

If you’re paying out of pocket

Self-pay rates vary by clinician type. For a standard 50-minute session, current rates are:

Licensed psychologists (PhD, PsyD)$250
Postdoctoral fellows (PhD, PsyD)$230
Licensed professional counselors and clinical social workers (LPC, LCSW)$200
Psychiatric nurse practitioner (medication management)$250
Couples and family sessionsThe clinician’s listed rate

Fees vary by insurer, and not every service is covered by every plan. We’ll tell you what to expect for your situation before your first visit.

We’re committed to making mental health care accessible to everyone. If cost is a concern, contact us to ask about needs-based services.

Psychological testing costs

Insurance coverage for psychological testing varies depending on your plan, and not every plan covers every part of an evaluation. The cost depends on the level of evaluation you choose and your benefits. We’ll help verify your benefits and give you an estimate before testing begins.

Tier 1: ADHD Screening$625, direct pay
Tier 2: EvaluationVaries with your benefits
Tier 3: Comprehensive EvaluationVaries with your benefits

We’ll check your benefits before your first visit

Before your first appointment, our team contacts your insurance to confirm your coverage, copay or coinsurance, and where you are on your deductible. We’ll explain what that means for your cost per session. Copays, coinsurance and deductibles are due at the time of service.

Verifying your benefits is not a guarantee of payment by your insurance. Anything your plan doesn’t cover is your responsibility, and we’ll explain what to expect before you start.

Insurance terms, in plain English

Negotiated rate

The cost per session after the discount your insurance has negotiated with us. If your insurance has negotiated a rate of $200, you will pay no more than that amount.

Deductible

What you pay each plan year before your insurance starts sharing costs. With a $2,000 deductible, you pay the full negotiated rate until you’ve paid $2,000 for covered care. Many health plans provide behavioral health coverage with no deductible.

Coinsurance

A percentage of the negotiated rate you pay after your deductible is met. With 20% coinsurance on a $250 session, you pay $50 and insurance pays $200.

Copay

A flat amount per visit set by your plan, such as $25.

Out-of-pocket maximum

The most you’ll pay for covered care in a plan year. After you reach it, your plan pays the full negotiated rate for covered services.

Superbill

A detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance to request out-of-network reimbursement.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, if you don’t have insurance or aren’t using it, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. Ask us for one at any time.

Common questions

Do you take my insurance?

We’re in network with every major payer in Colorado, including several that aren’t listed here because of space. If you don’t see your insurance on the list, please give us a call. Chances are good we’re in network.

Is couples therapy covered by insurance?

Sometimes. Many plans cover couples or family sessions only when they’re part of treatment for a diagnosed condition. We’ll check your plan and explain your options, including self-pay.

Is telehealth covered?

Most plans cover telehealth therapy by video. Phone, text and other services that aren’t live video usually aren’t covered. We’ll confirm your telehealth benefits along with the rest of your coverage.

What if I can’t afford care?

We’re dedicated to making mental health care accessible for everyone. Contact us to ask about needs-based services and the options available for your situation.

Ready to take the next step?

Tell us a little about what you’re looking for. Our care coordination team will match you with a clinician, verify your insurance and help you schedule. We usually respond the same business day.
