Billing and Credentialing FAQ

If you can’t find the answer here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll be happy to walk you through our range of services and how we can help you grow your practice.

That’s really up to you! We project that a master’s-level clinician working 15 contact hours per week and taking 7 weeks of vacation off per year would earn about $50K, while a doctoral-level clinician would earn about $66K. If we change those to 22 contact hours and two weeks of vacation, we project about $88K for the masters-level clinician and about $114K for the doctoral-level provider.

No, but you can! You can choose to work 100% telehealth if you wish. Or, if you prefer, we can arrange for access to an office in Lafayette as needed for in-person sessions at a reasonable price.

You will complete all clinical documentation, including intake, progress, and termination notes in our system. This tracks that documentation is complete so that we can bill for sessions. Great question! Expect to receive a welcome packet from us shortly. This will include paperwork for you to complete so that we can get to work on your credentialing as well as lots of tips and strategies for success. We will expedite your credentialing as much as we are able to, and will start referring patients to you as soon as the insurance company completes their side of the credentialing process.

We will ask you to complete our paperwork that gathers all the information we need to get this process complete for you.

As soon as we are able to refer new patients to you, we will reach out to you and ask you to contact the patient to get scheduled. As new patients are referred, we will provide their contact information so that you can reach out and schedule intakes.

Sure, no problem. We are happy to get them into our system so that we can bill their insurance and they can continue to get the care that they need with you, without the burden of steep financial obstacles.

It happens. We know that a good fit between patient and provider is critical to the outcome of psychotherapy and we want to help make that happen. If you meet with a new patient and find that they would be better served by another provider, please do let us know and we are happy to try again with a new connection.

We will provide you with a welcome packet to make sure you know how to navigate our systems efficiently, and access to training videos for support in using the technology as needed. We not provide clinical training at this time.

Because you’ll make more money. We provide more than simple billing of your own negotiated rates. We have independently negotiated premium reimbursement rates as a larger network of providers, and you can access those better rates. We also provide patient referrals – which simpler billing services can’t do. On top of that, we provide options for additional support services if you wish.

Because we believe that the defining and highest priority aspect of this relationship is the one-way duty of care that flows from provider to patient; this duty is paramount and is more defining of the nature of the relationship than the fiduciary aspect, which is highlighted by “client.” Moreover, we do not believe that “patient” is inherently problematic – we all suffer at times, we all could benefit from care at times, and this reality is normal, not pathological. If you were ill and went to visit your physician, and they used a word to define that relationship that emphasized your financial obligation to them while erasing their duty of care to you, would you find that comforting?

Yes! We welcome licensed psychologists with testing experience and can provide referrals, credentialing, and billing services for testing.

Sure! The rate at which we could make referrals would be substantially slower, but we are happy to help with direct pay billing, including referrals, invoicing, superbills, and out-of-network claims.
