LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy
You deserve a therapist who understands and affirms who you are, not one you have to educate. The Metis Center is a proud LGBTQIA+ safe space, and many of our clinicians specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ people.

You might be noticing
- Exploring or questioning your sexuality or gender
- Coming out
- Minority stress, discrimination and microaggressions
- Family or relationship strain
- Reconciling faith and identity
- Gender-affirming steps and the support around them
- Anxiety, depression or trauma, with a clinician who gets the context
How we help
We offer gender-affirming, sexuality-affirming care that respects every part of who you are, including how your identity intersects with race, culture, faith and disability. Whether your identity feels settled or you're still exploring, we'll meet you where you are. We also work with partners, chosen family and families of origin.
A plan built around you
Every person is different and responds to different things. Your care can combine several evidence-based approaches, with or without medication. If questions come up about ADHD, autism or learning, psychological testing is available within the practice. And your plan can change as your needs do, including moving to another clinician on our team whose expertise fits better.
