Medication management
Psychiatric medication care from our on-staff psychiatric nurse practitioner, coordinated with your therapist so your treatment works as one plan.

What medication management includes
Our board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) evaluates your symptoms and history, discusses whether medication could help, prescribes when appropriate, and monitors how it’s working and any side effects over time.
Coordinated with your therapy
Many people get the most benefit from medication and therapy together. Because your prescriber works in the same practice as your therapist, they can share observations and adjust your plan together, with your permission. You don’t have to relay messages between offices.
Who it’s for
Medication management is available for adults, teens and children. Common reasons people come to us include:
What to expect
Full evaluation
Your first appointment is a full psychiatric evaluation of your symptoms, history and current medications.
Decide together
Your prescriber talks through the benefits and risks of any medication so you can decide together.
Follow-up visits
Follow-ups are shorter and focus on how you’re doing and whether any changes are needed.
Common questions
Is medication management covered by insurance?
Usually. We’re in network with most major plans, and we’ll verify your benefits before your first visit. See insurance and fees.
Do I have to take medication if I come to Metis?
No. Medication is one option, and many people do well with therapy alone, or by combining with other treatment approaches such as CBT. or EMDR.
